The European Economic and Social Committee’s Consumers and Environment Category will hold its next public event, focusing on New EU goals and policies for sustainable development – Joint perspective of consumers and environmentalists, on
Tuesday 15 October 2019, from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), VMA building, Rue van Maerlant/straat 2, Room VMA, 1040 Brussels.
The Consumers and Environment Category is going to discuss how the political concept of sustainable development is evolving at EU level and the EU’s priorities and policies for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. Speakers, consumer representatives, environmental experts and all participants will take part in a lively debate. The first panel will discuss the expectations and positions of civil society and the general public, while the second panel will focus on the response of representatives of the EU institutions.
